With 2016 just beginning, it's time to look back at Ohio State's most popular content and trends of 2015.

Using analytics, the effectiveness of web, mobile and social media channels can be tracked and measured over time. The data collected provides insights into Ohio State constituents' digital preferences, helping answer: What pages are users visiting? What are users seeking? What types of content resonate the most?

Notable for 2015 was the sharp climb in mobile device usage. For web, mobile device sessions on osu.edu pages nearly doubled (+99%). iPhone web sessions alone were up 145%. For the Ohio State app, sessions also increased, by some 20-30%. Tablet usage on osu.edu was comparatively flat (a 5% increase). The Ohio State app saw tablet usage drop.

Though it was an early event in 2015, content related to the Buckeyes winning the football national championship dominated social media activity.
