Sharing the 2020 Vision
Kristen Convery writes about a new web site dedicated to sharing President Michael V. Drake's 2020 Vision.
Access to an education that's both high quality and affordable. A strong spirit of community engagement. A welcoming atmosphere that feels like home to everyone.
For Ohio State communicators, President Michael Drake's 2020 Vision is inspiring: These values are the reason many of us choose to work in higher education.
University Communications recently launched the 2020 Vision website, a digital home for Drake's plan for Ohio State. In addition to the landing page, three topical pages serve to tell the story of our commitment to access, affordability and excellence; community outreach; and diversity and inclusion.
The site showcases President Drake's leadership; shares movement in these areas ("in action"); promotes feature stories related to the vision ("in focus"); and gives audiences a chance to connect to the areas ("get involved").
One of our site goals was to create opportunities for colleges and units to help populate and promote the site. Among the opportunities for collaboration:
- a visual mark used to identify 2020 Vision stories in web and print, available in a variety of colors and orientations (designed by Eric Lee);
- an #OSU2020Vision hashtag and dedicated templates for social media graphics;
- a section of each topic page is dedicated to sharing stories related to vision topics; this section will evolve to include social media and web features from throughout the university;
- free high-res images available for download in the President Drake photo album.
